FAQs & Legal Stuff

Do you have formal training in nutrition, or medicine?

I am currently a student at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and will be certified as a holistic health coach in August 2010.  As a health coach, I can help you in many ways, but I am not a registered dietitian, nurse, or doctor. My blog posts are a reflection of my own personal experience, opinions, and research. Please be responsible, and always read labels and listen to your doctor or other specialist about specific dietary guidelines or concerns.

Do you get paid or get free stuff to write reviews?

Unless I say so in my post, you can assume I have not been paid or given anything to review something I mention on the site. If at any time I am given a product or book so that I can review it, I will be transparent in my post about where the product came from and how/if I was compensated. You can be sure that even if something is given to me for free, what I write here will be my honest opinion, so if you are interested in sending me something, feel free to contact me, but be aware that there is no guarantee that I will endorse the use of it if I don’t like it.

Do you make money from this blog?

If you buy something from an affiliate link I have provided (I use Amazon.com affiliate links), I do receive a small commission on the sale. You will also see a small amount of relevant advertising on my site, but I pledge to accept such advertising responsibly and tastefully.

How do you feel about comments on your blog?

I love comments, and hope you will leave many for me! Please note, however, that I do reserve the right to edit and delete comments as I see fit. I respect opinions that are different from mine, but I will tolerate only respectful conversation within the comments, so be please sure that you keep that in mind when responding to a post or to a comment left by a fellow reader.

Can I use your recipe/text/image/photo/etc.?

I’m cool with others copying my recipes as long as you attribute the work to me by linking back to this blog. Even if you change it and want to use the “adapted from” tagline, I’d still appreciate a shout-out. Unless otherwise specified, all of the text is mine, so please ask permission before using it. One of the great things about blogs and our virtual world online is sharing information, but I do expect to be credited for my hard work and time spent on this blog.
